View of Es Vedrà from the Atlantis trail with waves rolling in – Ibiza coast
Looking out toward Es Vedrà, a moment of awe, waves rolling in, and nothing else that matters.

If you're looking for the perfect summer adventure in Ibiza, this is it. A half day hike that takes you off the beaten track, leads you through pine-scented trails, and ends with a swim in otherworldly rock pools carved into the coast. This is the Atlantis route, one of our all-time favourite experiences at Easy Adventurs.

Located near Cala d’Hort and facing the mythical island of Es Vedrà, the Atlantis site, officially known as Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort, is full of unexpected contrasts. On one hand, it’s a quiet nature reserve with incredible views. On the other, it’s home to a secret artist’s quarry, hidden pools, and some of the most unusual rock formations on the island. All of this, in one accessible but adventurous route.

We designed this experience for summer: it’s got shaded paths, fresh sea breeze, and built-in swimming stops to cool off. You’ll hike about 7 kilometres in total, with a few steep sandy sections that require decent balance but no technical skills. It’s recommended for reasonably fit adventurers, families with teens, and active travellers looking to escape the crowded beach scene.

Our route starts early to beat the heat, moving through shaded forest before opening up to stunning coastal views. From there, we descend towards Atlantis, a surreal spot where natural rock pools fill with crystal clear sea water and the carved quarry walls tell stories of long-gone stoneworkers, hippie painters, and barefoot explorers. It's a place that doesn’t feel real, and yet here it is.

Swimming here is not only allowed, it’s encouraged. The water is calm and shallow in many places, ideal for a refreshing dip or even a little snorkelling. We always bring masks and goggles in case anyone wants to look under the surface. There are often small fish and starfish hiding between the rocks, and if the sea is calm, it’s like entering a natural spa, Ibiza-style.

After the hike, this is the reward. Crystal clear water, carved stone pools, and a swim that feels like a secret.

You might also spot local climbers scaling the vertical cliffs in the late afternoon light, a quiet bonus of the route that adds to the atmosphere. And if you're lucky enough to time your return with sunset, you'll get a view of Es Vedrà that’s worth every step.

This route is part of the Cala d’Hort natural park, so we take special care in how we run it. At Easy Adventurs, all our experiences follow a strict Leave No Trace policy. We don’t use plastic, we keep group sizes small, and we educate our guests on how to protect the island while enjoying it. We bring water, reusable bottles, and fresh fruit, you bring your curiosity, a swimsuit, and good walking shoes. That’s all you need.

In terms of difficulty, this hike is moderate. There are no ropes, no climbing skills required, but the descent to the pools can be slippery, especially in dry conditions.

Our guides are there to help, and we take our time, safety and enjoyment come first. If you're unsure about your level, just ask us. We’ll help you decide if it’s right for you.

We always bring our GoPro and take pictures during the route, especially during the swim, so you’ll have some memories to take home. If you’re travelling light or just want to relax, we’ve got you covered, all the fun, none of the stress.

So if you’re visiting Ibiza this summer and want to discover something authentic, beautiful, and just a little bit wild, join us.

This is not a touristy beach walk. It’s a half-day adventure, guided by people who live here and love what they do. It’s about connection: with the landscape, with the sea, and with the real Ibiza.
